Ready for the next Ice Age? Winter is coming.

Tonga.
Just saying.
Early days yet but it looks like it put a fair bit of material into the stratosphere. Most of the chatter at the moment is about tsunamis, dust fall, and communications cables. Hopefully the immediate casualty counts will be negligible but there will probably be some global impacts from an eruption of this size. I'll be interested to see how much.

Met Office issues first red extreme heat warning

A red extreme heat warning has been issued for the first time ever by the Met Office for parts of England next week, meaning a risk to life is likely as temperatures could hit 40C (104F).

It points to there being a danger to life, with the risk of illness not limited to vulnerable people.
This highest warning, covering London and parts of central England, warns of widespread impacts on people's lives.
Downing Street said it was being treated as a "national emergency".
The prime minister's spokesman said contingency plans were in place and officials would continue to meet over the weekend after the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) also increased its heat health warning to level four.
Level four means illness and death "may occur among the fit and healthy and not just in high-risk groups", the UKHSA said.
The highest recorded temperature in the UK was 38.7C in Cambridge in 2019.

Now would be a good time to increase the population of the country
Now? well, that happens or doesn't happen but either way it has absolutely zero to do with the climate, unless your position is that our population deserves to live through global warming and {bleep} everyone else.

It's not really about "deserves". Rather about whether it will (or will try).

Life will generally try to live.
Not always. On occassion seemingly sentient groups of people exhibit a mass suicidality. Sometimes the ideology is more important than life and the Koolaid is already made so it must be drunk.
