Just in case you think the police are scary or maybe it's Russia or ebola or something else - just in case you are not yet sufficiently scared to say yes to whatever the nice camouflaged men from the government tell you to do - ISIS is coming!!!!!

That's what the Saudi King is saying, anyway. He may be getting worried about Bandar’s rogue jihadis. Or he's just helping his old friends in the US oil patch get more troops back into Middle East oil patch.

Well, that's not all bad. If they're coming, there's a remote chance they'll cut your head off and spare us your garbage. That would be nice.

Man who beheaded bus passenger in Manitoba wins right to unescorted trips

outings to —Winnipeg, Lockport and nearby beaches — will be relaxed.

Vancouver is not on his unrestricted outings list
he has already shown the initiative to get a head
if he's going to get a best foot forward
then Vancouver is where he should be

'This message is addressed to you, oh Putin'

'Remember this. And with the permission of Allah we will liberate Chechnya and all the Caucasus.

"The Islamic State exists and it will exist and it will expand with the help of Allah. Your throne is already shaking. It is in danger and it will collapse when we get to you. We are on the way with Allah's permission.'

You've turned into a right charmer in your old age.

You've turned into a right charmer in your old age.
Nah, that was just me being a prick and you don't need to be a "right charmer" or any age for that.

But here's the thing. Fluffy seems to think that the threat from terror groups is not something we need to worry about. Instead we should panic about "the nice camouflaged men from the government". He's basically asking us to trade one brand of fear mongering for another. The fact is we need to be weary of both and not panic about either - because well, no good comes from panic. That's why I no longer like fluffy, he's no different from those he purports to be against, he's just a different flavour of the same shit.

That's why I no longer like fluffy...

Regardless of your reasons (which you won't be surprised to read I disagree with), it comes across more as hatred than mere dislike. Over the last several months you've transformed yourself into Whyzzat's most abusive poster by a country mile. (Not that there are teeming hordes providing competition but a notable change from how things used to be around here.) Apart from a couple of notable exceptions, almost all of your abuse is aimed at one other poster who, unless he's been sending you death threats via PM, does not treat you in anything like the same manner. I imagine you already know this but if you don't, I'd encourage you look back over some of your recent exchanges - the abuse is mostly one way.

I think everyone needs to get more sleep :D

Prince Bandar did tell Putin that his jihadis would make trouble for him in Chechnya if he didn't drop Syria.
Sounds like the Saudis offered Putin an outstanding deal. Only two reasons why Putin didn't take it: 1) He didn't believe the Saudis could really deliver, or 2) he's an idiot. From what I can tell, not much happened with those Chechens, so there's a good chance he was talking shit about that and a few other things he offered and Putin called his bluff.

In other words, if you believe this is evidence of Bandar's control over terror groups, it is in fact the opposite. Nice try though.

Btw, it's starting to look like Putin is on the highway to self destruction. Thanks to ISIS Obama might actually do something about Syria. Obama may or may not attack Assad's forces directly but is likely to unite the non-ISIS rebels against Assad and the US airforce and special forces will take on ISIS. He probably should have taken the Saudi deal and hoped for the best. As for Ukraine, Russia will likely continue with it's stealth invasion but the next round of sanctions might put Russia on the same level as Iran and pretty much freeze up the Russian financial sector. To boot, global oil prices are heading in the wrong direction so Russia can't pump it's way out of this. Bad time to be a Russian, but then, when's there a good time?

Oil prices heading down? Bad time to be Canadian too I guess.

BTW, you understand that it matters not at all what the truth is nor what Putin may or may not be doing. The ratchet moves regardless. It's the same play as they did on Saddam. Just this time, Europe is paying the price. Each turn of the screw is meant as a provocation, trying to illicit a response that could be sold as a cause for war (it's like a guy trying to start a fight in a bar), and if no response ever comes to the provocation they'll just start a war based on the build up of hype and pretend it's all true. It's what they always do.

But Canada's economy is not the one trick pony Russia's economy is thanks to Putin. From what I've read, proposed sanctions will for the most part shut down Russia's bank system but also ban the sale of any equipment used in the oil & gas industry. It's gonna be a double whammy that once it takes full effect will cause some very serious damage to the financial well being of Russian corporations, banks, the government and of course the populous in general. Wealthy Russians will at least be able to vacation in Crimea however, so I guess that's good news.

So you say, but all evidence suggests you're full of shit. There is now no denying that Russian military is operating inside Ukraine. You can deny that all you like, but Russian media itself is reporting this. Russian soldiers have been killed on the Ukrainian battlefield and their loved ones at home are demanding answers. Did it occur to you that the main reason this invasion is so secretive is not so much to fool NATO and Ukraine, who know exactly what's going on, but the Russian people who overwhelmingly don't want Russian boots on the Ukrainian ground?

So sorry, you're wrong and pathetic to boot. When NATO and the EU have ratcheted up the "costs" it's been to a well defined increase in Russian hostilities. Putin is fully responsible for all of the killing in Ukraine and the NATO/EU response that will cause suffering in Russia as well.

And France finally has come to it's senses and said they will not deliver the Mistral class carriers to Russia. And Russia seems a little pissed off.

Russia expects France to deliver warships: minister

On the eve of a NATO summit, his office said on Wednesday France would hold off on delivery of the first warship. It accused Russia of actions in Ukraine which ran "against the foundations of security in Europe".
