Yeah, at least part of that is not really an exaggeration. Parenthood is a goddamn bodily fluid nightmare. And you will change your dreams and goals around some. But. Even despite it not being an exaggeration, I'll tell anyone who asks. Kids are totally worth it, and so much more. I was stupid to wait as long as I did. I don't go around preaching it to people (I can't presume what would work for other people), but it's a 180 I did in my own life, and I'm definitely not ashamed to admit it. When I think about who I was 7 years ago... I can't imagine that person possibly being half as happy and fulfilled as I am now.

And the forget about traveling bit I don't get. Traveling with a kid can be ultra-cool. They notice and point out all sorts of things, and really soak up even the B- and C-list destinations. (Which you'll probably hit a few times, as you'll be broke from supporting the little monsters.) Still. Worth it.

but seriously, I'm glad you enjoy your kids. I know my mother is my number ONE fan. There's nothing like that unconditional love. I've been spoiled.

that said, I'm happy to be child free. works for me.
