The logical answer is "Yes". However, it would be harder to say either way if the stair didn't have such an obvious tread and riser. Therefore this feline has decreasing potential energy.

as + is reciprocal, rearranged this is:
A+A+B+B+C+C=54
otherwise written:

I'm kinda guessing here as I assume no artificial light is being used, considering the shadow the cat is going down.
Also considering the wall on side of the stairs, which indicate there used to be some kind of broadening of the stairs.
