As Super Tuesday results show, Hillary Clinton is a shoe-in for the Democratic nomination. Seems that only the Super Stupid could support the Socialist, and his "free everything" promise to college age voters. Even dim witted Democrats know that somebody has to pay for "free stuff".

On the Republican side, unless something drastic happens, It looks as if a man who wears a dead squirrel on his head is going to be the Republican nominee.

How did this happen?
You can totally blame (in this order) Progressives for wanting to do away with religion and endorsing all kinds of perverted stuff. Black folks for wanting a black president, just because he was black. Democrats for supporting job killing things like higher taxes, globing warming, no pipeline, killing coal production. Republican speaker John Boehner for going along with Obama on all these things. Attorney General, Erik Holder for refusing to uphold the law and letting the guilty go free while not enforcing the emigration laws. Fifty percent of the population not paying any federal taxes, and an IRS that was/is out of control.

Why did this happen?
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!
It's taken 7 years of Obama and his childish and inexperienced way of governing, to push the American people to ether accept that kind of leadership (with Hillary) or to fully reject it, and go the other way (Squirrel Head).

Me; I'm writing in "None of the above".

somebody has to pay for "free stuff".
That's not strictly true.
However, it is often true that when people do things for themselves they can pay less for the same thing than paying a private company geared to turning a profit.

Which is your right, but I believe you are completely backwards in your reasoning. The reason the US has the current circus is because there is a set of elites that run things for their own self interest and shut out the rest of the population from decision making, and the people are tired of it and are not interested in voting for their lackeys any more. The Republicans who no longer feel represented by the GOP got a head start on it by giving Ron Paul a good run, and this time around they are capitalizing on that spirit of revolt by getting behind Trump.

How much influence do the American people have on government? Not much.
(Whatever you think of the movement behind the video - the analysis is right).

So why would the people who want to topple the oligarchs vote up a rich guy like Trump? Because the elites hate him - and he will break their power. The elites would rather lose the Whitehouse than let Trump get in. That tells you who he is a real danger to.

The Dems got a slower start but this year Bernie is giving a good competition to Hillary (and if only some special prosecutor could bring forward an indictment she richly deserves he would be the only candidate with a chance). The Dem party elites want Hillary and would rather lose the Whitehouse than have Bernie in there. So, both Bernie and Trump are good candidates if what you want is to stick it to the elites.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

As far as I am aware, he is the only candidate who has openly and frequently stated that he plans to raise taxes in case he were to be elected president. Criticizing him for hiding that the government would need to raise its funding goals to pay for additional services would be unjustified.

(That said, there are numerous people who have argued that he underestimates how much money would need to be raised. But this is an entirely different conversation.)

Fifty percent of the population not paying any federal taxes
So, 50% of US residents never buy any gasoline or diesel? Hard to believe given there are 260 million light vehicles registered in the US :)

Satan, get your skates on. I think I might be agreeing a little bit with Huckabee.

Aaaaaand .... Rubio's a crook.

You know, if the Bernie and Trump phenom keeps up we could be seeing a number of smaller players sensing a ripe time to switch loyalties and abandon the establishment. We may be seeing it already. If Trump is such a force (as he undeniably is - it can no longer be hidden without causing a huge stink among far too many people) then we might be seeing right wing establishment lining up with Clinton, an invasion which may spook a large part of the Democratic party and which leaves the left with no candidate but Sanders - which might mean some meaningful action on the email server to scupper the queen.

Off topic but a bit of that was like a Fox News parody:
"I'm a Christian.."
"Hey, I'm a Christian too!"

To me, this is a reason to cheer for Trump.
Billionaires and people who want to send jobs and dollars overseas hate him.

slightly less disagreeable than Clinton
... mmm ... I find him significantly less disagreeable. When the Neocons would rather back Hillary than Trump that tells me a lot about Hillary. Unless she is wearing a cunning disguise and will show her Liberal dove side after the election (and bombing Libya is a pretty convincing disguise) I doubt that she's on our side. I don't think Trump is either, but it is better to send in someone who will damage the machine that is eating the world rather than someone who will oil it.

I hear what you're saying about Clinton and I agree - she's an utter scumbag.
The trouble is, so is Trump.
Just because the establishment don't like him doesn't really obscure that fact.

Diesel and gasoline (petrol) are both noxious flammable liquids that shouldn't be drunk. Which one do you put in the tank of the bulldozer that is going to be knocking down your house? The one that the dozer driver DOESN'T want you to put in.

Hmmm... not sure that analogy really works but it doesn't matter; I despise them both so won't ever be cheering either of them on.

In a contest I have no say in, trying to decide whether the bucket of cold sick is better than the bucket of tepid sick is probably pointless. I'm going to be served up whatever the American public decide and either way I'm going to dislike it.
