Wow C... Sorry to hear about all of that, but glad to hear that everyone's relatively OK now.
Seems life got complicated...
thanks....my shingles was the least of it, frankly.
it really gave me a great excuse to STOP and just rest.
Taking care of my aunt and mother these last several years has been quite exhausting. I do ALL the driving - doc appointments, grocery shopping, picking up meds (mostly for my aunt), etc.
All of that just wore me down.
fortunately, my mother doesn't have any ongoing medical issues, unlike my aunt. It shouldn't surprise you to learn that my aunt smoked. She stopped around 1999 after she got breast cancer. She was convinced that the cancer treatments gave her neuropathy in her feet and hands. Since she never had diabetes, she might be right...who knows for sure?
Anyway, she had to take about 6 or 7 pills everyday (often more than once a day) and I kept track of getting all that from the drug store. Exhausting!
My mother basically only takes a prescription calcium pill once a week and a low dose aspirin everyday which is damn impressive at her age - at least all the doctors and nurses think so. Of course, my mother never smoked or took drugs.
Mom has all her marbles but sometimes she gets forgetful and I still have to watch her - she can get tired quickly. Fortunately, mom is a reasonable person so we can discuss schedules and strategies to make sure none of us overdo.
Winter has been stressful.....these are not the winters of my childhood. Temperatures below freezing MOST of the winter is not normal. That affects how long snow stays around and that affects driving.
oy vey.
looking forward to spring
