Farm kills millions of bees with illegal pesticide spraying, gets slap on wrist

Surely the beekeepers can file a civil case now.

It'd be even better if fellow farmers whose crops needs the bees joined in with the beekeepers. Both could sue for losses.

The citrus industry has been untouchable in Florida for decades. Not only untouchable, but government will bend over backwards to destroy all individual property rights to help them. About a decade back the state sent hired thugs on every single residental property to cut down any and all citrus tree, causing countless further damage along the way. The pretense was to erradicate citrus canker, a disease that is not harmful to humans and only causes cosmetic harm to fruit trees. The fruit remain safe to eat, but unsightly to sell. Countless thousdands (millions?) of perfectly healthy citrus trees cut down, all on the pretense of saving the cirtus industry.

Supposedly the crews would only cut within 1,900 feet of a proven infected tree which was the radious deemed the disease could spread. The crews nor the state ever provided homeowners any proof their property was within this distance and they literally went home to home hitting every single property. At the same time the price of citrus fruit and related products in the store skyrocketted in price. I'm sure just a coincidence, wink wink.

Since not all citrus require pollination it may be of no concern to the grove owner kills bees. In fact, pollinators would mean more seeds in your fruit and maybe spraying to keep the bees off the blossoms may help reduce seed count.
