How can you go from demanding that I must pay for services that I will never use and then jump to anti- birth control that no GOPer has ever proposed?

Here's the tough love version... We live a society and at times people must contribute to things that are against their preference. It can be difficult.

But, hey if you want to pay me back for my spending thousands of dollars for unwanted warfare funding feel free to deduct the couple of bucks this will cost you.

Well, really, it's a good consumer protection... Having the Federal Government mandate a baseline set of coverages for what health insurance is isn't really a bad thing. It helps consumers make better comparisons between products, and it prevents these private companies from raping us even worse than they would, otherwise.

Now, the argument that the Federal Government shouldn't be the one setting those guidelines would be fair, if not for two problems.
    1) As far as I know, no private group has set up a such a set of guidelines, yet.
    2) We're mandated to buy these private policies.

It would all make a lot more sense if there was a public option insurance that could serve as the baseline mark. Of course, the public option never made it through, so what we're left with is the flusterduck of a mandate to buy some nebulous service.

The real thing I have a problem with (and I'd think you should too!) is that we're mandated to buy these private health insurance packages. Because of this, we need someone to define what health insurance is, and ensure that these companies are actually delivering it. Protecting citizens from rampant corporatism is one of the few things the federal government SHOULD be doing.
