A new stage in the Arar affair turns a spotlight on the past relationship of Syria and the US. Just as the US sent people to Libya to be tortured before they decided to topple Gaddafi, they used to send guys to Syria to be tortured before they split with Assad.

This week Canada filed charges against the Syrian intelligence officer who tortured Arar on behalf of the CIA.

I have NO idea what I'm really doing, but I installed the SSL cert on whyzzat.com, generated a secret key, then set up image and link proxies. Hopefully the site now directs to https:// properly, doesn't generate any cookie errors, and is generally a better, more secure environment... Let me know if I've broken the universe.
