Interesting how quickly the right-wing forget Obama did things like allow weapons in Federal Parks that Republican Reagan banned. And gun sales are at an all time high - clearly any new laws hasn't stopped the market but instead appear to have encouraged it.

We know the reason for "Fast and Furious" was to stage a situation to allow for public out cry to get more regulations on firearms. American gunowners also know what is about to happen and home protection is a must when welfare no longer is enough to survive on as the inflation tax destroys the US fiat currency.

That's one guess. Though history of gun buying sprees show that some people are simply crazy paranoid. Y2K gun buying frenzy was a recent good example there.

Vast majority of gun owners I know are rock solid sane. Now a few Progressives that I know, OTOH, is an entirely different story.

I caught some new show called Doomsday Preppers last night. It highlights different people preparing for end of the world scenarios. One of the families highlighted were NE liberals. They had canning, farming and a lot of things pretty good, but they refused to keep any sort of guns or other weapons. When it was pointed out that when shit really hits the fan they will need to protect what they were storing, their answer was that they would win people over with love and kindness (paraphrasing). If/when shit hits the fan, they will be soft targets taken out quickly for their reserves.

Problem with them, they don't understand it's unlikely going to be single two legged animal causing issue. It's going to be small gangs doing the dirty work and rape is probably going to be on the agenda at some point in time.

Unless, with love and kindness, they can win the help of some people who don't know how to grow and store food but who are pretty good with guns and have them.

When the US Military has rocket launchers, unmanned drones, tanks, nukes is love and kindness any more effective than that pea shooter of a 30-06? Neither one is particularily comforting.

As for why - again we saw lots of paranoid folks snapping up guns for Y2K. Now we have paranoid folk afraid of the black guy in the oval office. Now we have paranoid folk who think the world will end in Dec 2012.

There are 4 people in my home and 3 guns. So, far I assume the 3 year old doesn't need her own gun. I have a reasonable amount of ammo. What will more guns give me? Nothing.

Hopefully before a gang finds them, commits murder/rape, takes everything they can put in their cars/trucks, and burn down the joint to cover their tracts.

Because race is still a divider in America today. One cannot understand America unless they understand all the issues in our past and still on our plate. Minnesota is fairly racist but nothing compared to my experiences in the Southern US.

I feel sorry for the guy but perhaps he should learn some gun safety.

Then it's time to get over it already. We have a future we have to scrape together and that means all able body hands on deck. Only by working together will the past be washed away with the future.

    Absolutely.

I'm all about moving our society to the founding principles that 'all are created equal'. I'd love to live where people are judged by the content of their character and results of their deeds. However the suggested giving up the intolerance of the intolerant bigotry in the land is not a solution, it's cowardice.

every time I hope American will grow up some of them prove how stupid and petty they are.
Many Americans simply don't understand what racism is - or for that matter what sexism is. In it's essence it's the way people at the top marginalize people They view as beneath them. It's often so subtle many don't catch it.

But as someone who has had assholes make moronic statements meant to marginalize, I KNOW.
I don't dwell on it constantly. But I also don't act as if it's All gone, All better

and this is NOT about Political Correctness. Not saying those bad words all the while THINKING them is not going to get rid of racism. I WANT people to admit their racism/sexism. I WANT people to admit their bigotry. They can hold on to it if they wish but I hate it when they deny it. The first thing Americans have to do is stop the hypocrisy

So your in favor of "though crimes" re-education camps.

And what method should we use to make them "admit their bigotry"?

I guess you should move out of your racist state and into Florida. I am always left scratching my head when I hear lefties like you talk about racism. For all of Florida's problems, widespread racism is not one of them in 2012. I guess racism is more of a blue state problem in 2012.

I would also like to point out that even on Whyzzat, anytime someone points out the horrors of the Obama administration, someone immediately throws out the race card. Get over it already. Being 50% black does not make Obama above criticism. Obama wears big boy pants like the rest of us.
