It looks like the perpetrators may indeed have been from Iran. However, they are from an exiled Iranian group who are against the current rulers. Which is probably why Israel was so quick to be able to lay the blame on Iran. They probably work together - which isn't much of stretch since we have seen how exiled dissident groups (and terrorists) being used before.
