We got 3D pics of the 2nd kid, when I was 39 too. The first kid was ultrasound only. He was looking right at the camera. It was a skull. We nicknamed him Grim until he was born.
Cute. Ya we'll get the 3D treatment in a few months. I still think it'll be kinda freaky, but what the heck!
Hey Congrats! Man, I thought I was crazy first becoming a new dad at 35. My wife and I talked about having a second child, but at 38 now, I said I was too old for to do that again. LOL! Get your sleep now, cuz you're gonna need all of it you can get over the next few years. Trust me. I'm a lot greyer from this, and my bedtime has moved from my normal after midnight to "whenever I'm left alone for 5 minutes." But, there's a lot to be said for having kids when you're older, too. I know at 35, I had my life and things a lot more under control than I possibly could have at 20 or 25. And, regardless, there's so many amazing moments... For sure. That's really cool. My son is actually the only grandchild for both sides of the family. Prepare now to build an extra wing on the house just to store all the gifts he (or she) will receive.
At ~37 my wife and I entertained the idea of having #5. If finances were better, we probably would have #5. Now at 40, that ship has sailed for both of us. When your oldest 2 kids are adults and you could become a grand parent any day, it is probably time to close the factory
@ilwrath, I had that sleeping problem. Exercise fixed it right up for me. Now I'm back to my 6-7 hour sleepful nights. Though the wife complained for about a month that she couldn't sleep anymore the lack of snoring was too quiet for her.
