Cheney has his own assassination squad

I fully expected the US to have some form of hit squad to go after suspected terrorists - and overall I think it's a good idea except that getting them alive is far better although perhaps not always possible. But what kinda surprises me is that 1) We know about it, and 2) Dick Cheney allowed himself to be directly linked to it. I know Cheney is very aggressive and controlling, but you'd think he'd know that if this ever got out he could be up for conspiracy (if not murder) charges. Is he that reckless? But then why not, it works for Putin.
