Just for the record ... sometimes letting your kids get vaccinated can get you killed.

But the system is politically corrupted. The longer the corruption goes on the less faith people will have. This politics is just part of the problem but the far bigger part is the amount of money involved and the amount of potential damages that could be awarded. Companies have managed to drastically reduce their exposure to law suites by getting the politicians to change the rules so that they either have blanket immunity or that actions such as class action suites are no longer tenable.
Companies do their own trials, and if you don't pass you lose out on millions spent and billions of future sales - so studies for stuff that isn't immediately deadly get fudged - "reasons" are found for bad reactions or lack of efficacy and then the drug companies write their own literature, market to doctors, interfere with adverse reaction reports, fund their own followup safety studies and fund PR companies to hack apart independent studies and it's all just business. Government departments that used to do independent verification have been whittled away and bought off and we end up with a lot of expensive medication that is heavily marketed that often doesn't do as much good as they say or does more harm than can be covered up. The health care systems reliance on the profit motive means that health care is sick.

You don't have to appeal to the base selfish desires to do health care. Most people have the motivation to do good.

Then again, a large number of polio cases are caused by the few people who DO get vaccinated and then spread the vaccination strains to unvaccinated people.

No offense, but you've done a great job of taking this thread completely off topic. Do you believe there's some sort of global left wing conspiracy to reduce the world population down to near zero through the use of secret population limiting agents in the form of vaccines?
