Anyone prepared to bet money that this ended when Bush left?

That's good that you agree with someone but I'm not sure who it is, since I never said that.

Wasn't "Escape from New York" scary enough? ;)

Well, I'll be forty next month and during that time there have been scores of US invasions, missile strikes, and bombings.
As far as I can tell there isn't a single one of them that's made me or anyone else I know any safer.

So yes, by all means, if by militarily isolationist you mean your country were to stop invading and bombing other countries on the same flimsy excuses they've been using for my entire life, I have a feeling the majority of the planet would welcome it.

I don't think anyone will be losing too much sleep over that.
Far more likely that either your lot or the Israeli tail that wags your lot will nuke Iran.

Maybe we should have a recap of Bush's fake stories. I can't even remember the details.

Does Obama? No idea, but politicians have never been thought of as being the most trustworthy of people. However, Obama's opponents have accused him of doing the opposite: hiding real stories. You know, the stories about his birth certificate and Halloween parties. So who knows, it may be tempting for Obama to make up some fake issues as well (hint: they'll probably involve leading Republican candidates).
