    There was a program on over here some time back where a guy drove from one side of the US to the other using only independent gas stations and hotels. There clearly is a niche still for the indi retailers, albeit one that is shrinking.

    one of the efforts of the OWS movement is the get more local business happening. I've been a big fan of this idea for a long time

    I thought he made it to the coast, just not where he was planning on finishing? Seems like a lifetime ago since I watched it, so could well be wrong.
