In related news - To date MN in March is over 5 degrees above average and about 2/3 less snow than average. Today it is 'cold' but still about a degree warmer than average. We're expected to warm back up for the rest of the month.

Yeah... It looks pretty middle of the freakin' blue blob in the thumb of Michigan, too. It was a pretty easy winter until February kicked my ass. That sucked. Take your warmest winter bullshit and cry somewhere else. It was quite a bit colder here than Fairbanks. (Which really does go to show how messed up the weather was this winter... But I'm still not ready to hear the word 'warm' associated with it. Too soon.)

If you check the Arctic sea ice extent you can see it's low for this time of year (should be around maximum extent at the moment) because all the cold air that should have been making ice at the north pole was visiting the east side of North America.

Points: Feb 2015 is the warmest Feb ever measured. Since Feb 1985 we've had 360 consecutive months of warmer than average global temperatures.

Question: Climatologists use 30 year period to define what's normal. Is continually increasing Global Warming the new norm?
