This one hits me for sure. The classic lineup of Motorhead is now officially gone.

The last surviving member of the British rock band’s best-known lineup died after contracting pneumonia.

Motörhead guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke has died at the age of 67.

His death was announced on Motörhead’s Facebook page. According to the post, Clarke died peacefully in hospital after suffering from pneumonia.

From Facebook Motorhead Official Page:

Official Motörhead
We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight...Edward Allan Clarke - or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke - passed away peacefully yesterday. Ted Carroll (who formed Chiswick Records) made the sad announcement via his FB page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia...

Phil Campbell said, "JUST HEARD THE SAD NEWS THAT FAST EDDIE CLARK HAS PASSED AWAY. SUCH A SHOCK, HE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HIS ICONIC RIFFS AND WAS A TRUE ROCK N ROLLER. RIP EDDIE."

Mikkey Dee said, "“OH MY {bleep} GOD, THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS, THE LAST OF THE THREE AMIGOS. I SAW EDDIE NOT TOO LONG AGO AND HE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. SO THIS IS A COMPLETE SHOCK. ME AND EDDIE ALWAYS HIT IT OFF GREAT. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HIM IN THE UK THIS SUMMER WHEN WE COME AROUND WITH THE SCORPS…NOW LEM AND PHILTHY CAN JAM WITH EDDIE AGAIN, AND IF YOU LISTEN CAREFULLY I’M SURE YOU’LL HEAR THEM, SO WATCH OUT!!! MY THOUGHTS GO OUT TO EDDIE’S FAMILY AND CLOSE ONES."

Fast Eddie...keep roaring, rockin' and rollin' up there as goddamit man, your Motörfamily would expect nothing less!!!

RIP FAST EDDIE CLARKE 5th October 1950 - 10th January 2018

Ya'll are probably bigger fans of the series than me.

Police Academy Director Hugh Wilson Dies at 74

Not only is Hugh Wilson responsible for dropping Police Academy on the world, he also created the classic sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, which debuted in 1978. And he helmed the popular comedy movie The First Wives Club. The filmmaker and TV producer died this past weekend in Albemarle County.

Hugh Wilson got his comedy start writing for TV in the 1970s. He first worked on The Bob Newhart Show and the Tony Randall Show before creating WKRP in Cincinnati. The show aired for four successful seasons on CBS between 1978 and 1982, and still lives on in syndication.

He served time for being a sick bastard (attempting to rape a 17 year old mentally challenged boy), though he denied it to the end. He was still the drummer during what was their most profitable era, so worth posting here.

Former JUDAS PRIEST Drummer DAVE HOLLAND Dead At 69

Dave joined PRIEST in 1979 and stayed in the band for a decade, playing on such classic albums as "British Steel" (1980), "Point Of Entry" (1981), "Screaming For Vengeance"(1982), "Defenders Of The Faith" (1984), "Turbo" (1986), and "Ram It Down" (1988). He exited the band in 1989 and was replaced by Scott Travis. Holland was also a founding member of TRAPEZE alongside Glenn Hughes and Mel Galley, his bandmates from a previous group named FINDERS KEEPERS.

Quick note, a few websites have supposedly "debunked" this by claiming that the jazz musician also named Dave Holland is still alive and well. The jazz player with that name is most certainly not the same person as the ex-Judas Priest drummer.

I never really liked The Fall that much but they are a favourite band for a lot of my friends, including my other half, who was saddened by this news.
