I know Wayne is a big fan, anyone else? I finally got into this show a couple months back. I binge watched for a few weeks and am up to date.

IMO the show has tons of flaws, plot holes and too much suspension of belief to mention. All that said, it is still a great TV show. In US movie ratings I'd say it is a hard NC-17, just short of X. That is a nice change from typical shows. Everything is over the top. The special effects are movie quality and the plot is overall acceptable. There are slow lulls in the middle of some seasons, but usually have a pay off toward the end with some crazy episodes. If I had to average out and rate all seasons/episodes combined, I'd give a B+. I don't watch a lot of TV series, but this was worth it. I hear there will only be 2 more seasons and they will be done. Hopefully the hinted spin-off will happen.

A couple small pieces of trivia I picked up.

Sibel Kekilli (Shae) was a literal porn actress prior to Game Of Thrones.

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor Clegane aka Mountain in season 4-6) is 6'9" and over 400lb and one of the world's strongest men.

In 2010 he came 3rd in Iceland's Strongest Man, and has won every year since then. He has also won Europe's Strongest Man in 2014 and has appeared in 4 World's Strongest Man finals through 2011-2014, finishing in 6th, 3rd, 3rd, and 2nd respectively. Only narrowly missing the title in 2014 to Lithuanian 4x World's Strongest Man winner, and friend of Hafþór's, Žydrūnas Savickas.

Struggled through the first five episodes a few years ago and never got around to watching the sixth; I found it all a bit meh.

Right now, the best I can say about the show is a "meh". Like a lot of shows, I was a big fan for the first few years, but like "The Walking Dead", I eventually just got distracted by the other 100 or so shows that came out in the "9 months" between each season...

I think the biggest problem for most of these shows -- aside from the "3 or 4 month season so that we can sell DVD sets" -- is that there's just too much good competition and TV coming out of all the networks from ABC to Netflix to, well, everybody...

The season ender of GoT for example, I watched it and was kinda "that's cool, what will happen next week?" not realizing it was a season ender. Now we're supposed to wait on baited breath for 9 or 10 months until they pick it up while remembering (or even caring) what happened in the latest episode? The days of the Dallas "who shot JR?" cliffhanger are over, but someone forgot to tell the writers...

I still think my favorite new show this year has been Lucifer

I did enjoy all seasons of "Call Me Fitz" so I was quite interested to see what Sheri Elwood would do with Lucifer. Unfortunately, I found it too unbelievable that the main protagonist was "the devil". If the show had been about "another fallen angel" or even, say, Lucifer´s son who fled from hell to live among mere mortals, I would have had an easier time trying to immerse myself in the show´s world. But, as it is, Lucifer is such a well established character in religion as well as entertainment that I found myself constantly noticing how the protagonist in the show just does not match my expectations.

It reminded me a little of "God Cop" in "30 Rock":

Overall, I liked the actor portraying Lucifer better in his previous show as a morally corrupt doctor, which had potential but was ultimately not great either.

I think the issue depends on which (of the 100+ or so available) version(s) of the Bible you've subscribed to and all that. Talking to a friend of mine who's an actual Ordained Minister (Master's Degree in Divinity, not fly-by-mail), the way he explained it was that "The Devil" himself isn't necessarily incarnate evil. He's just an Angel of God who was assigned a job millennia ago and will return to His right hand side when the job is done...

As such, I can totally buy the "needing a vacation" ideal of the show. Is it campy? Absolutely, but it's flawlessly cast so far...

When I watched Dogma for the first time, I did not have any issues with its interpretation of theological themes, despite the fact that the movie has Alanis Morisette as god and a poop monster in it.

Right. In simple terms, "The Devil" is god´s undercover cop, who is tasked with tempting people. From what I have seen of it, this is very much missing from the TV show, which I think is why it feels so different to me.

Speaking of 100. I have been a fan of "The 100" for a while. I watched the entire show in a marathon and although it started out as a teenage empowerment thing it grew into quite a good show.

"The 100" is a pretty good show, started out great. Now it's more like some sort of weird teenage soap opera.

I absolutely love it but I've only watched to the end of series 3.

My daughter has just bought series 4 to 6 so I'll be watching them soon. So I'm not clicking any links that might reveal the plot !!

I've even bought a Targaryan Jacket
